Dan & Amanda Busken 5.31.08

Photos by Stephen Busken Photography, Los Angeles, CA.

Dan & Amanda really are special people. Both of them put so much time and effort into making their wedding a special day not just for themselves but for everyone in attendance. You can't witness that kind of effort and that kind of love and commitment without being inspired by it. These two are family but even more they are friends. If you guys are reading this, I really loved being able to contribute to your incredible day...despite my sore feet and jokes about owing me slave labor for the rest of your lives...you know I love you guys.

Also, I have to thank everyone (friends and family) who helped pull it all together, including Bridie Busken (my sister and design guru), Bonnie Wade (my mom and design guru), Sally Albrecht (my very efficient helper and list keeper); and friends including John Cressey, Julie Smith, Jenn Grote, and Matt Greco (for helping me with set up from the arch to the chair covers).

Now for the details: Flowers included Hydrangea, Roses, Cymbidium orchids, Stephanotis, and others. We used Swarovski crystals in the bride's bouquet as well as crystal chandelier garlands in the centerpieces with pin spot lighting to set them off. We also designed a candy table for the guests including their colors of ivory, aqua, and chocolate.

The rest of the team:

Julie from I Do Weddings was their Day of Coordinator, and she was so on it...everything went off like clockwork.

Busken Bakery (shocking) made the eight tier cake. I included pictures of the bride and groom standing next to it so that you could put in perspective just how gInormous (pronounced jy-nor-mis) it was.

The pictures above were shot by Stephen Busken of Stephen Busken Photography, and he did double duty as the best man and family photographer...last picture in the set above is of Stephen and brother Dan the groom. Stephen is a professional photographer, but sorry ladies, he lives and works in LA so unless you want to fly him here, he won't be able to shoot your wedding...bummer. He actually came before the wedding started and shot a bunch of detail shots, and I'm so grateful that he did...isn't his work incredible!!!

The photograher for the event is Photosmith, and as soon as I get some shots from Brad, I will be posting some of them too!

Steve Zugelter from Glass Eye Video did the glorious video. He got one part of the video done which played during the reception, and it was absolutely amazing!!! Check out the trailer on his blog...I well up a little when I watch it.

The band who rocked the evening away was Johnny Clueless.

The venue was Music Hall. Gorgeous!
